The front of the pack rested in McGrath Thursday night and were back on the trail Friday morning for their penultimate day of racing before Iron Dog 2022 crowns its champion team. Teams 7 and 10 continue to be at the front of the pack. At 10 a.m. Friday, Aklestad and Oldstad had already passed through Nikolai on their way to Puntilla, as had Team 6, Brad George and Robby Schachle. Team 10 left McGrath at 9:23 a.m. and was not far behind. While Team 10 traveled behind Team 6, their course time still has them currently in second place. 

Racers will be held Friday night at their respective checkpoints for a re-start Saturday morning that is expected to put finishers across Flat Lake, and off the clock Saturday morning. Finishers will ultimately arrive at the Menard Center where friends, family, fans and sponsors are encouraged to gather.
