The good folks at Alaska Spine Institute have treated their fare share of snowmachiners. After all, this sport is tough! So, when it comes time to sponsor an event that ASI understands well, Iron Dog is at the front of the line. We thank this longtime health-care provider for looking after the racers, supporting our event, and keeping Alaskans healthy so they can enjoy this great state of ours. Q. Tell us about your business and what services you provide.

A. Alaska Spine Institute is an Alaskan-owned specialty physician practice that provides services to include:

• Sports Medicine

• Back, Neck and Joint Pain

• Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation

• Pain Management

• Physical Medicine

• Electrodiagnostic Studies

• Permanent Partial Impairment (PPI) Ratings

Q. How long have you been an Iron Dog Sponsor?

A. Alaska Spine Institute has been a sponsor of Iron Dog since 2015. Larry Levine has been a physician and personal sponsor to many of the racers prior to 2015 for many years.

Q. Why did you decide to become an Iron Dog sponsor?

A. One of our physician owners, Larry Levine signed up to race the Pro Class in 2015, and we have been by his side supporting him and the Iron Dog race and racers ever since.

Q. Why do you think supporting the Iron Dog is a valuable use of your annual giving?

A. Alaska Spine Institute’s motto is getting our patient’s back to Life, Work and Play. The Iron Dog race, racers and community live life to the fullest and epitomize what it means to live, work and play in Alaska.

Q. How do you think the community benefits from the existence of the Iron Dog?

A. Iron dog is not only a fun event that showcases hard work and determination it also is a great example of the power of volunteers and teamwork.

Q. What do you think of the revamped race this year, with the additional miles near Kotzebue and the Fairbanks start?

A. We are excited that Kotzebue has been added and that another great Alaskan community can benefit from this race.
