Spotlight On: Carlile, Iron Dog 2020 Sponsor

There are no roads that will get you from the Iron Dog starting line in Fairbanks and the finish in Nome. But that hasn’t stopped trucking company Carlile from pitching in as a key Iron Dog supporter for the past 17 years. This longtime trucking and logistics company recognizes the importance of events that bring together communities and help keep that Alaska spirit alive. 

Iron Dog thanks Carlile for its dependable support, and for sharing a few thoughts on why they agree that Iron Dog is the World’s Longest, Toughest Snowmobile Race. 

Q. Tell us about your business and what services you provide. 

A. Carlile is Alaska’s leading trucking and logistics company with terminals throughout Alaska and in Tacoma, Houston, and Alberta, Canada.  Q. How long have you been an Iron Dog Sponsor?

A. Carlile has been a sponsor of the Iron Dog for 17 years. 

Q. Why did you decide to become an Iron Dog sponsor?

A. Carlile’s sponsorship of the Iron Dog is to support Roger Brown, a Carlile employee and Iron Dog racer. As an Alaska company, we also support the race because it is an iconic Alaskan winter event. 

Q. Why do you think supporting the Iron Dog is a valuable use of your annual giving?

A. Carlile supports a variety of community causes and events. As an Alaska-based company, we value the Iron Dog as one of Alaska’s signature winter events. It also provides the opportunity to support Carlile employee and Iron Dog racer, Roger Brown. 

Q. How do you think the community benefits from the existence of the Iron Dog?

A. Winter activities are important to Alaskans, and the Iron Dog provides a unique experience for Alaskans and fans from around the world.The race also benefits the local economy and helps market Alaska as a winter destination. 

Q. What do you think of the revamped race this year, with the additional miles near Kotzebue and the Fairbanks start?

A. Carlile supports the Iron Dog organization and their management of the race. The course improvements should prove interesting.
