VP Racing Lubricants Becomes Official Oil Of The 2020 Iron Dog
FAIRBANKS – From the legendary brand with more than 40 years in high-performance racing technology, VP Racing Lubricants is continuing that winning tradition by announcing today a partnership with the World’s Longest, Toughest Snowmobile Race.
Iron Dog and VP Racing Lubricants have partnered to provide its Pro and Rec class riders with industry-leading oil for the 2020 event. The VP Sub Zero Full Synthetic engine oil is the official lubricant for the 2020 Iron Dog and will be staged for racers and rec riders to use at every official checkpoint along the 2,400-mile course.

The 2020 Pro Class route effectively reverses the traditional course used in year’s past, and with a loop north from Koyuk toward Kotzebue then back to Nome, racers will travel a total of 2,409 miles in the 37th running of the Iron Dog. The Pro Class leaves Pike’s Landing at 11 a.m. Feb. 16, 2020 in Fairbanks. Pro Class racers will finish Feb. 22 in Willow.
The Kotzebue loops adds more than 375 miles to the course, and follows much of the Archie Ferguson/Willie Goodwin Memorial snowmachine race course. Added checkpoints for 2020 include Buckland, Kotzebue, Noorvik, Kiana and Selawik. The Willow finish line is also a new venue for the Iron Dog.
Recreation Class riders will leave Feb. 13 from Fairbanks and end their ride Feb. 18 in Nome after also traveling through the Kotzebue loop.
Registration for Pro Class closes Oct. 31, 2019. Rec Class riders can register until Thanksgiving (but must register by Oct. 31 if they want to be included in the official Iron Dog 2020 guide).
