Official Iron Dog News ReleaseDec. 29, 2017 Iron Dog Cancels Ceremonial Anchorage StartIt is no surprise to anyone in Alaska that we are suffering from tough economic times and Iron Dog is no exception.It is because of this and other factors that the Board of Directors have made the decision to cancel the ceremonial start on Fourth Avenue in Downtown Anchorage."The downtown start was a fantastic addition to our race, but it was simply too expensive and complex to continue. We look forward to another great race as we celebrate 35 successful years of Iron Dog," said Jim Wilke, President, Iron Dog Board of Directors.
