Ski-Doo Wins Big

SKI-DOO DOMINATES THE TOUGHEST RACE

Four of the Top Five Iron Dog Race Finishers on Ski-DooSki-Doo, Team CC and local Alaska dealers have put together many winning teams in this year’s Iron Dog race. Ski-Doo took 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th places as well as a total of six of the top ten positions.

“I can’t think of a better event and testing grounds than the Iron Dog race to demonstrate the quality of a snowmobile. I am impartial with regard to manufacturers, but it’s hard to deny that Ski-Doo must be doing something right. All you have to do is look at the 2013 results.”, said Iron Dog executive director Kevin Kastner. “Everyone enjoys a competitive field in the Iron Dog and it’s my hope that all the manufacturers will participate in the 2014 race, bringing their latest technology, best riders and strong support for the event.”

Winning the Iron Dog takes a combination of great support, race proven equipment and solid products like XPS Lubricants. It’s probably just a coincidence, but the last two Iron Dog races were powered by XPS and won by Ski-Doo. This year marks Ski-Doo’s second in a row and third championship finish in the 30-year history of the Iron Dog race.

Tyler Aklestad, three time Arctic Man champion and second place winner in the 2013 Iron Dog said, “The best part about XPS oil is that I never have to worry about it. Between Ski-Doo and XPS there are virtually zero engine maintenance issues, and that leaves more time to focus on racing.”

In addition to the great results for Ski-Doo, a partnership of local dealers, Team CC, Compeaus and Wilderness Ski-Doo showed great support for the first National Guard team in history to complete the Iron Dog race. It’s truly an accomplishment to simply complete this race. The Alaska National Guard riders, Vince Salzbrun and Michael Williams were among the 51% of those to finish the 2013 Pro Class race.

Korey Cronquist, VP and General Manager at Team CC said, “We have assembled the most competitive race team ever. We started with the best product (Ski-Doo MXZ 600 E-Tec) which made our efforts much easier thanks to the designers and engineers at Ski-Doo, and with teamwork from the race department at Ski-Doo and Team CC, together we tuned to get the most out of the sleds followed aboby the staff at Team CC before during and after the race, and the friends, family, and enthusiasts helping the teams prepare for the race, the pilots supporting the teams on the trail, the sponsors and lastly the racers for making it happen.”
