Spotlight On: Everts Air Cargo, Iron Dog 2020 Sponsor

The Iron Dog race passes through more than 28 communities as it travels from Fairbanks, across western Alaska and back toward Southcentral Alaska, ending in Big Lake. The racers will be on the ground, but they depend on such sponsors as Everts Air Cargo to get to the checkpoints ahead of them. Everts is one of many Iron Dog sponsors that helps support that race, making sure that parts and other supplies get where they needed in a timely manner.

Iron Dog thanks Everts for supporting the World’s Longest, Toughest Snowmobile Race. Your help in the air helps the racers on the ground. Learn a little bit more about Everts, below.

Q. How long have you been an Iron Dog Sponsor?

A. We’ve been a proud supporter of Iron Dog since 2013.

Q. Why did you decide to become an Iron Dog sponsor?

A. Being an Alaskan, family-owned aviation business, we love supporting events that are not only fun but that also reach our customers and attract new audiences from across the world.

Q. Why do you think supporting the Iron Dog is a valuable use of your annual giving?

A. We find value in any event that supports our communities and it’s members … and since this event (especially with the additional miles and checkpoint added on this year), reaches our neighbors in remote rural towns across Alaska, we definitely find it a worthy cause to partner with.

Q. How do you think the community benefits from the existence of the Iron Dog?

A. Being an Alaskan and family-owned business, we know the value of supporting organizations and events that provide ways for the community to come together. This is important because many of the remote communities that make up our great state, need to stay connected, to keep our culture and way of life alive – and, of course, to have fun over the long harsh winters.

Q. What do you think of the revamped race this year, with the additional miles near Kotzebue and the Fairbanks start?

A. We love the idea! It lengthens the race, creating more of a challenge, and involves more Alaskans by going through checkpoints.
